Woodgrain Models

Proud Arabian Foal Race Horse

Woodgrain models, first issued in 1959, are made from regular Breyer plastic which has been painted to resemble carved, polished wood. Some have hand-painted details such as black eyes and white facial markings while others are a solid woodgrain. Popular with collectors, the original woodgrain models were in production through the early 1970s. They are also found on lamps made by Dunning Industries made in the early 1970s. See also Decorator Models.
