Collector's
Manual
 Breyer
produces two kinds of catalogs. One is meant for collectors, and
can be found in the box of many Breyer model horses that you buy. The size
of this collector's manual (also called
the collector's catalog or
consumer catalog) has varied since its inception in 1968
and most recently has been about 5 1/4" x 7". Collectors' catalogs for recent years are
usually pretty easy to find, as anyone who's been buying Breyers
lately probably has several lying around the house. Breyer did
not publish collector's manuals in 2011 and 2012, and recent
manuals are not clearly dated and have multiple covers.
 Breyer also produces a much more detailed catalog which they send to
their dealers--the dealer catalog, also
called the trade catalog. These catalogs, first
released in 1954, provide background information on new molds and larger
photos of each release for that year. Dealer catalogs are typically 8 1/2" x
11" and today cost the dealer about $6.00.
