Stablemates, at 1:32 scale, represent what was for a long time the smallest scale of Breyer horses--now Breyer's "Mini Whinnies" have that honor. Introduced in 1975, the same sixteen molds (referred to as G1) were used consistently until 1998-1999, when new molds (G2), sculpted by Kathleen Moody, were added. In 2005-2007 additional molds (G3), sculpted by Jane Lunger, were added. It's important to note that each of the sixteen original molds was stamped "1975" or "1976" on the inside of one hind leg. This is the date the mold was created, not the year the model was released.

As of 2005 Breyer no longer has the rights to make the G-1 Stablemates, all of which were originally H-R molds sculpted by Maureen Love. Unless a new agreement is made these molds will not be used again by Breyer. In 2010 Breyer introduced new molds (G4) as a part of the World Equestrian Games Stablemates set.
